The heart of it is a soft Thai oud from Sa Kaeo, chosen for a refined, lightly leathery character rather than the barnyard intensity of many Middle Eastern ouds. It opens on juniper berry, black pepper and petitgrain, moves into frankincense with cardamom, cinnamon and nutmeg, and settles on that oud with olibanum, vetiver, oakmoss, caraway, cocoa and tonka.
