Description Massimo is a spice-forward leather extrait that hits hard and stays: bergamot, cardamom, cinnamon and ginger crashing into pink pepper and leather, then a long resinous finish of labdanum, olibanum and sandalwood. Created by Christian Provenzano and released in 2023, it is named for his son and described by the house as the poetry of spices setting fire to a torrid leather. The opening is bright with bergamot but immediately warms into cardamom, cinnamon and ginger, a trio that builds quickly. The heart is all pepper and leather: pink pepper, black pepper and pimento, with a hide note that is dry and slightly smoky. The base is where it settles in for the long haul, layering sandalwood, cedarwood, vetiver, tonka and musk over a bed of labdanum, olibanum, styrax and benzoin. The effect is a dark, spicy warmth that reads expensive and deliberate.
